Restaurant chain Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille is expanding with a brand new, comparatively more casual restaurant. Carve American Grille is opening open in Oak Hill at the Lantana Place development off West William Cannon Drive and Southwest Parkway starting on Tuesday, December 17.

Carve, which is the first and only location planned for the moment, will focus on fiery cooking methods like live-fire, smoking, and wood-grilling, with a wider menu than Perry’s. This means “meatloaf cupcakes” (yes), corn dogs made with lobster, and a vegan Salisbury steak, along with Perry’s meat array, from prime rib to steaks. The smoky approach will apply to desserts and cocktails as well.

Carve’s physical restaurant space, designed by architect firm Aria Group Architects, Inc., will include a dining room, three private dining rooms, a bar with outdoor seating, four patio fireplaces, and lots of wood accents. There will be a butcher shop which will allow people to buy and bring home cuts of meat.

Also under the Perry’s Restaurants umbrella from founder and owner Chris Perry is butcher shop Perry & Sons Market and Grille. Perry’s Steakhouse opened its second Austin restaurant up in the Domain Northside as of May 2019.

Lantana Place already includes a location of movie theater and restaurant Moviehouse & Eatery.
