— West Texas brewery Big Bend Brewing Co. is closing at the end of the year. This includes the the brewery and taproom out in Alpine. as well as its plans to open in San Antonio. The shutter is happening because of “challenging macroeconomic conditions affecting investment in the craft beer sector,” according to the brewery’s Facebook announcement. The last day of service and production is on Monday, December 31. Despite the impending closure, the brewery will release a bottle next month and another for Valentine’s Day.

— Now that the South Austin Threadgill’s is closed, the iconic signage is now removed from the West Riverside building, as noted by a Reddit user.

— Business Insider said that the Torchy’s Tacos is the best chain the publication has been to this year, and re-published its summer review of the restaurant’s Dallas location (rather than its birthplace of Austin) for some reason.
