Guy Fieri Found “Serious Brisket” in Texas

—As part of Eater’s 12 Days of Guy FIeri, the Platinum Prince shared that he visited Louie Mueller Barbecue recently, where he had some “serious brisket”. While he typically prefers pork, he admires brisket because of how difficult it is to create. Fieri was in the Austin-area filming for his new show Triple D Nation.

— Austin burger drive-thru P. Terry’s and its Tex-Mex spin-off Taco Ranch raised $36,052.13 during its Giving Back Day last Saturday for Season for Caring. P. Terry’s regularly holds its Giving Back Days throughout the year when all of the restaurants’ proceeds for the day are given to a local charity.

— Austin sandwich chain ThunderCloud Subs raised and donated $350,000 to Caritas of Austin last week from its annual Turkey Trot five-mile run on Thanksgiving. The restaurant said this is its largest donation through the run’s 28 years.

— Denver chef Thach Tran said that Kemuri Tatsu-ya’s uni-brisket dish is the best thing he’s eaten this year.
