Yard Milkshake Bar, the Alabama milkshake bar known for its indulgent ice cream creations, is opening its first Texas location in Austin. It’ll be found at the Domain at 3400 Esperanza Crossing sometime in spring 2019.

The milkshakes are reminiscent of the ones from Instagram sensation Black Tap Burgers & Beers in New York, which became popular in 2015. Austin’s Southern-Asian restaurant Peached Tortilla has been dabbling in decadent milkshakes with toppings like doughnuts or churros through semi-regular brunch pop-ups.

As for the Yard Milkshake Bar, the customizable milkshakes come with a wide range of ice cream flavors from the classics to fun ones like banana pudding, mint moose tracks, and edible cookie dough . There are various milkshake vehicles from mason jars, cones, bowls, floats, and sandwiches with doughnut, waffle, or brownies as buns.

Then there are all sorts of toppings, from nuts, chocolate chips, cereal crunches, cookies, and much larger items like doughnuts, candy bars, waffles, and even entire miniature cookie dough sandwiches.

Co-founders Logan and Chelsea Green first opened Yard Milkshake Bar out in Gulf Shores, Alabama in 2017. They followed that with locations in Panama City, Florida and Fairhope, Alabama.
