The last remaining location of so-called breastaurant sports bar chain Bikinis Sports Bar & Grill is closing in downtown Austin on Sunday, December 23. The 214 East 6th Street bar is turning into a new sports bar and restaurant called BBG’s, which will open on Thursday, December 27.

BBG’s is meant to be much more family-friendly than Bikinis, the sports bar most known for the fact that its employees wear swimsuit tops. The menu includes general bar food like burgers, tacos, and chicken wings. Then there will be other new dishes like lamb lollipops and a pasta dish with grilled chicken and rosé somehow together,

Doug Guller, who is the CEO of Bikinis parent company ATX Brands, opened the sports bar in 2006 in Austin. It expanded with 14 locations throughout Texas, North Carolina, and Oklahoma, but those all eventually closed.

To kick off the shuttering of Bikini’s, the breastaurant is hosting what it dubs as the 12 Days of Bikinis, though what that will entail isn’t noted.. It runs from Wednesday, December 12 through Sunday, December 23.

Guller trademarked the term “breastaurant,” and even bought a Texas city and renamed it Bikinis, TX. He changed the name back to its original one — Bankersmith — and tried to sell it in 2017.

Also under the ATX Brands umbrella are chicken tender restaurant Happy Chicks (the original location is above Bikinis actually) and Pelons Tex Mex.
