It looks like Food Network television host Guy Fieri visited at least two Austin restaurants while filming for his new series, Triple D Nation.
It’s confirmed that he hit up South Congress pizzeria Home Slice Pizza. Then, an Eater tipster noticed Fieri’s signature cherry-red Camaro car parked outside of downtown diner Holy Roller, driven by someone wearing a shirt for the new show. A Home Slice rep said that the pizzeria wasn’t sure if it would make the final cut for the show. A Holy Roller rep couldn’t confirm Fieri’s visit.
Fieri and his film crew will also visit Noble Sandwich Co., tomorrow, Tuesday, December 11, for lunch. as the restaurant noted on Facebook. He last hit up the sandwich shop in 2012, when he indulged in the smoked duck pastrami sandwich.
Another Eater tipster saw Fieri outside Brazilian food truck Boteco last week as well.
Someone on Twitter noted that Fieri was at pizzeria and pastrami spot Pieous too.
Triple D brings Fieri back to restaurants he visited during Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives to see what happened to those establishments since then. Previous Austin-area and Texas restaurants that have been featured on Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives included Luke’s Inside Out, Casino El Camino, Maria’s Taco Express, Magnolia Cafe, Green Mesquite, Counter Cafe, Foreign & Domestic, and Monument Cafe out in Georgetown with Matthew McConaughey. So it means that any of those restaurants could appear on the next show.
Unfortunately, Fieri missed the fourth edition of Guy FieriCon, a restaurant and bar crawl where participants dress up like him, which happened in Austin in late October.
This article will be updated as more information about Fieri’s Austin whereabouts trickle in.
