Garbo’s Lobster Truck is setting up another downtown Austin location, although it’s a temporary one. It’ll be set up as part of Whole Foods Market’s ice skating rink on the plaza level from Thursday, December 13, 2018 through Monday, January 21, 2019. Its hours will be from 1 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and then from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday.

HOU-ATX Barbecue Throwdown, where mostly Houston- and Austin-based barbecue joints competed to see who made the best smoked meats, was actually not from Houston or Austin at all. The winner was Bodacious BBQ from East Texas town Longview (the restaurant was one of two wildcard entries). The restaurant whipped up beef cheek- and jalapeno-stuffed corn dogs.

Home Slice Pizza raised over $28,800 through its month-long pizza series in November, dubbed Doughvember. The proceeds will go towards local nonprofits Safe, Casa of Travis County, Austin Bat Cave, and Carrying Hope.
