Quack’s 43rd Street Bakery took over Bribery Bakery’s now-vacated shop in Mueller for its third Austin bakery Lady Quackenbush’s Cakery. A tipster tells Eater Austin that the bakery opened yesterday, and a phone call to the location confirms that Lady Quackenbush’s is open with a limited menu and hours this week.
For the new location, Quack’s moves the cake production shop from the 43rd Street location over to Simond Avenue. Lady Quackenbush is dedicated to customized cakes and cookies, as well as coffee, espresso, and pastries. The Mueller bakery will also expand on its offerings, adding items like cake truffles, macaroons, eclairs, and more. It’ll also make use of Bribery’s liquor license and serve beer and wine.
Quack’s first opened on Guadalupe Street as Captain Quackenbush’s Intergalactic Espresso and Dessert Company. Owner Art Silver opened the 43rd Street spot for bakery production. When the original cafe closed, everything relocated to Hyde Park.
