Hopdoddy Burger Bar, the growing Austin-based burger chain, is opening a new restaurant in East Austin. Specifically, it will be found at forthcoming East Austin development Plaza Saltillo starting sometime in late 2019.
Further details aren’t known at this point about the new Hopdoddy, but it’s safe to expect its popular burgers (including the vegan Impossible Meat one), shakes, fries, and, often, long lines.
“We chose Plaza Saltillo because of the location, and the co-tenants that are joining the ranks there,” said Hopdoddy’s vice president of design and construction Mitch Liggett. He’s referring to the recently announced expansion of San Antonio Southeast Asian seafood restaurant Pinch Boil House, Whole Foods’ affordable supermarket, Dolce Neve’s second Austin gelato shop, brunch chain Snooze, the first Texas location of Spanish tapas chain Barcelona Wine Bar, and more.
The first Hopdoddy Burger Bar opened in 2010 on South Congress, and grew with nearly 30 locations across the country (four in the Austin-area).
