Pinch Boil House & Bia Bar, one of San Antonio’s hottest restaurants, is expanding into Austin for its second location. While the exact address of the family-style casual restaurant isn’t known at this point, it will be found at forthcoming East Austin development Plaza Saltillo starting in the summer of 2019.

Pinch is most known for its Vietnamese-Cajun seafood boils, mixing shrimp, crab, and crawfish in sauces like garlic butter, coconut curry, or dragon sauce with varying spice levels. The typical sides include corn, potatoes, smoked sausage, and rice. Then there are banh mi, bowls Korean buffalo chicken wings, salads, fries with crab, and more.

Co-founders Andrew Ho and Sean Wen (both of whom were raised in Houston and attended the University of Texas Austin) started Pinch as crawfish and shrimp boil pop-ups back in San Antonio. They decided to open the brick-and-mortar restaurant with newer business partner Ben Annotti in 2017 on 124 North Main Avenue.

Plaza Saltillo’s other tenants include the forthcoming Whole Foods Market 365, gelato spot Dolve Neve, brunch chain Snooze, Epoch Coffee, Tarka Indian Kitchen, Austin Juicery, as well as the first Texas location of Spanish tapas bar chain Barcelona Wine Bar and Los Angeles burger joint Stout Burgers and Beers.
