Sway, the beloved Austin Thai restaurant, finally announced the opening date for its third location out in Westlake. It’ll be found at 3427 Bee Cave Road starting on Wednesday, December 5.
Much like the other two locations, this Sway will feature the restaurant’s brand of Australian-style Thai food, from the salt and pepper soft shell crab to the jungle curry to the son-in-law to noodles, desserts, cocktails, etc. This is also the only Sway to offer late-night dining while also offering a kid-friendly menu with mocktails and milk and cookies.
Overseeing the Westlake location will be chef de cuisine Billy Sciacca, along with Sway’s corporate executive chef Charles Schlienger.
Likewise, the restaurant space was also designed by Michae Hsi, which means lots of wood tones, communal seating, open kitchen, a lounge area, and bar. There’s a garden courtyard (like the South First restaurant) too. Unique to this address is the rooftop bar with downtown Austin views, which will offer a limited food menu. Scope out the photos below.
The original Sway opened on South First in 2012 under hospitality group New Waterloo and founding executive chef Rene Ortiz (who left a year later). The group announced the two new restaurant expansions in 2015, with the Rock Rose location opening earlier this spring.
For now, Sway Westlake will open for dinner from 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, and until 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Lunch and brunch will be added at later dates.
