Local jewelry designer Kendra Scott’s new flagship store is now open, and the 1701 South Congress Avenue shop includes the the brand’s first cafe, Sips & Sweets, complete with all-day coffee, drinks, and pastries.
In terms of food, Sips & Sweets serves up cakes, tarts, sweet and savory croissants, miniature pies, and macarons. The shop has outsourced the treats with eye for local women purveyors like Maggie Louise Confections, BellaSweet, Tiny Pies, and La Patisserie. There are also entrees like a vegetable panini and chicken Caesar salad. See the full menu below.
For drinks, the Travis Heights cafe offers coffee drinks (Americanos, cappuccinos, espressos, macchiatos, and lattes, made with a custom blend from Texas Coffee Traders), wine, beer, and frosé. High tea service is in the works for the weekends.
“The store was created as a destination for customers to come and sit, shop, relax, socialize,” explained a rep for Kendra Scott. “A cafe just seemed like a natural fit to allow people to enjoy their time at the new flagship store.”
Sips & Sweets is just one part of the massive 3,118-square-foot store, which includes a large front porch and space for bands to play. There are several seats inside the cafe as well as the patio. The store also provides valet parking. The shop was formerly a residence, and retains the homey atmosphere (most recently it was home to Hill Country Weavers).
The hours for Sips and Sweets are the same as the Kendra Scott store: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
