Austin pastrami and sandwich food truck Otherside Deli opened its brick-and-mortar restaurant on 1104 West 34th Street in Old West Austin as of yesterday. For now, the restaurant is serving a limited menu during daytime hours, but it’ll expand with more food and hours sometime next week.

Otherside’s restaurant’ menu includes pastrami and hot turkey sandwiches, of course, as well as newer items like cheesesteaks, meatball parms, and cold subs like Italian, turkey, and ham. Forthcoming deli offerings will also include latkes, lox, salads, and more sandwiches.

Co-owner Conor Mack wants to add breakfast hours sometime next week. This means breakfast sandwiches on kaiser rolls (pastrami, egg, and cheese; pork roll, egg, and cheese; and egg and cheese) and coffee from Flat Track. Later on, it’ll add bagels from Wholy Bagels.

Now that Otherside Deli’s new restaurant is open, this means that its food truck at north campus bar Back Lot, which opened last year, is now closed.

Otherside’s initial hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
