Halloween came and went and, as usual, Austin’s restaurant and bar industry took up the challenge of dressing up for the occasion. Even neighborhood dive bar Nickel City used it as an excuse to transform into Moe’s Tavern from The Simpsons, complete with Flaming Moes and costumed bartenders. Scope out the costume array below.
Launderette
The Holly restaurant’s pastry chef Laura Sawicki went the cartoon restaurant route with her ode to Linda Belcher from Bob’s Burgers, complete with the red shirt, apron, red glasses, and glass of wine.
Dai Due
One of the butchers over at restaurant and butcher shop Dai Due went appropriately enough as a surgeon.
Small Victory
Bartenders at the downtown bar went spooky for their Halloween costumes, including a Wicked Witch of the West.
Suerte
The staff from the Mexican restaurant took the opportunity to pose in front of its colorful door for their Halloween portraits. Costumes included Scooby Doo and Salvador Dali Parton (say it out loud).
The Brewtorium
The brewpub’s staff went the Space Balls route.
Uchi and Uchiko
As is the usual tradition, staff from both restaurants posed for their annual group Halloween costume. Try to find the can of La Croix.
