— West Austin food truck court Midway Food Park is closing at the end of the month. Current food trucks include lobster spot Dock & Roll, Beirut, and Cheesecake Experience. It’s being turned into an event space sometime in the spring. The last day of service is on Wednesday, January 31.
— Micklethwait Craft Meats’ sausages are available on the East Coast for the rest of this week at Hill Country Barbecue Market’s New York and Washington, D.C. locations.
— Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin’s upcoming Asian smokehouse Loro received its new customized smoker from J&R Manufacturing based in Mesquite, Texas. The restaurant is expected to open sometime this winter.
— Sumptuary, the future pop-up restaurant space that is replacing former healthy Southeast Asian spot Satay, launched a membership campaign as a way to raise funds for the opening. Sumptuary Supporter memberships include private dinners, tastings, gift cards for cooking classes, free coffee, and more. Two-year memberships run for $1,000. There is no opening date yet.
— Fresa’s Chicken al Carbon is bringing back its freezing margarita discount this month. Whenever the temperature drops to 32 degrees or below, its frozen margaritas at the South First restaurant will cost one dollar. There’s a limit of two drinks per customer.
