Expanding the options for fried chicken in Mueller, Colleen’s Kitchen is now open at 1911 Aldrich Street, Suite 100. Co-owner Ashley Fric previously told Eater the space is meant to feel “as if you are coming to a favorite relative’s home.”
For now, the restaurant is open daily from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m., though that will likely expand, as there are plans for lunch and brunch. Happy hour, which includes discounted drinks and bar snacks, is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The menu is not yet available online but includes Southern-inspired bar snacks like blue cheese potato chips, pickled veggies, chicharrones, and a cheese plate, as well as more substantial fare like mac and cheese and fried chicken (which is also served at nearby J.T. Youngblood’s). There’s also a hefty menu of cocktails like the Farmers Market Mule made with herbs from the nearby Mueller farmers market.
Colleen’s is owned by husband and wife team Sean and Ashley Fric (and named after Ashley’s aunt). Sean is also involved with South Lamar newcomer TLC Kitchen, J. Black’s Feel-Good Kitchen, and The Golden Goose.
