Bar 96’s old bungalow space on Rainey Street is now home to a new bar: The Alibi, which opens today. It’s helmed by owners and business partners Sean Fric and Jason Steward, boasting of cocktails, beers, and food truck.
Alibi’s revamped space includes the outdoor bar area with porch swings, 12 television screens, and new mural. It is the new home for food truck Belly Up, which’ll dish out sliders, rice bowls, and fried dishes.
Inside, there’s a massive television screen. There are both indoor and outdoor bars serving cocktails and beer. The bar will host DJs as well.
Future plans for The Alibi include adding a rooftop patio and bar.
Bridget Dunlap’s Bar 96 closed in July. Fric and Steward are behind South Lamar bar The Golden Goose. Fric is also involved with J. Black’s and the forthcoming TLC and Colleen’s Kitchen, and Steward is part of Bungalow and Kitty Cohen’s.
