— Since Franklin Barbecue is temporarily closed because of that fire, pitmaster Aaron Franklin cooked up some kosher brisket for Izzy's BBQ Addiction, kosher pitmaster Ari White of Wandering Que, and Texas Monthly barbecue editor Daniel Vaughn. He used a new pit outside of Franklin Barbecue.

— Food Network’s Food Paradise’s next episode, “Blue Plate Special,” will feature chili from 24 Diner. It airs on Sunday, September 10 at 7 p.m.

— Canned cold brew business High Brew Coffee and vegan ice cream company Nada Moo were named two of Austin's fastest-growing companies in Austin by the Austin Business Journal.

— Want to work for La Barbecue? The barbecue spot is now hiring staff for front and back of house positions, including meat cutters, runners, and prep people.
