The third location of Eater 38 taqueria Papalote is now open on South Congress. The new brick and mortar location shares an address and seating (including precious air-conditioned indoor space) with sister trailer Twelve Bones BBQ. The building was formerly occupied by Vietnamese restaurant Lulu B’s, which closed last year.
Papalote’s original location on South Lamar opened in 2010, and the restaurant expanded to Research Boulevard in 2015. The restaurant is known for its al pastor tacos, along with vegetarian options like cauliflower. The area is looking to become a breakfast taco hotspot, with Twelve Bones offering options with barbecue and Papalote serving more traditional varieties all day.
The South Congress location of Papalote is open 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
Owners and brothers Sergio, Eric, and Eduardo Varela also own both locations of Azul Tequila.
