Take a Look Inside Colorful New Mexican Comfort Food Spot Eldorado

Guisos, enchiladas, and tacos

Eldorado starts serving Mexican-inspired comfort food from West Anderson Lane beginning today, Tuesday, August 8. Owner and chef Joel Fried, who spent ten years at the helm of Tacodeli’s kitchen, positioned the new restaurant as a neighborhood spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Eater took a tour of the North Shoal Creek restaurant, which features an airy and colorfully decorated space. The walls are bright blue, yellow, and green, with bold artwork and murals. The tables are topped with bursts of vivid decals. There’s a teal bar area.

A sneak peek at the menu shows ample options of salads, guisos, and small plates like quesadillas and nachos. The drink menu emphasizes fresh juices and Mexican flavors, like the Tamarindo with tequila, tamarind nectar, fresh lime juice, honey, and a spicy rim, or the Sandanista with vodka, watermelon agua fresca, ginger beer, and fresh lime juice.

Eldorado marks another addition to the growing North Shoal Creek neighborhood, which recently added the fourth location of Jack Allen’s Kitchen, OneTaco, and brunch chain First Watch.
