Food Truck Three Little Pigs’ Summer Vacation, and More A.M. Intel

— Essential food truck Three Little Pigs is going on summer vacation from Tuesday, August 8 through Wednesday, August 16. Chef Raymond Tatum will reopen the trailer on Thursday, August 17. Host bar The Aristocrat will still hold its Sunday and Tuesday brunches.

— Eater alum and former Eater Austin editor Paula Forbes' Austin-centric cookbook, , The Austin Cookbook: Recipes and Stories From Deep in the Heart of Texas, is now available for preorder. She deep-dives into the core of Austin's food scene, from tacos to Tex-Mex to barbecue to Southern fare, revealing some of the city's iconic restaurants and dishes from Matt's El Rancho's Bob Armstrong Dip to East Side King's beet fries, with recipes, of course. It publishes in March 2018.

— West Lake Hills bakery Great Harvest Bread Company's business increased after owner Stewart Dickson talked up the shop to one of his passengers during an Uber ride. That passenger was real estate agent Cord Shiflet, who spread the word about Great Harvest.

— The Texas Book Festival is bringing back its literary-themed cocktail week, where participating bars and restaurants across the state will create book-inspired special drinks. Whisler’s is mixing A Happy Place, based on author Kate Chopin’s The Awakening, made with salt, Topo Chico, blue Curaçao, and sotol. Other Austin bars and restaurants include Native, Kemuri Tatsu-ya, Eberly, Sophia’s, Dogwood Rock Rose, Nightcap, Barrel O’ Fun, The Townsend, Backbeat, Lustre Pearl East, Collide ATX, The Wheel, Searsucker, Juliet Italian Kitchen, and Olamaie. Partial proceeds from those cocktails will go towards the Lit Crawl Austin on Saturday, November 4. The Literary Libations Week runs from Monday, August 14 through Friday, August 18.
