Andrew Zimmern, Travel Chanel’s food-loving host, popped into Ramen Tatsu-ya for his next new television show, The Zimmern List, yesterday. He filmed a segment while slurping down a bowl of ramen with chefs-owners Tatsu Aikawa and Takuya Matsumoto (who also own one of Eater’s best new restaurants of the year, Kemuri Tatsu-ya).
For the new Travel Channel series, Zimmern will talk about his favorite foods while visiting his go-to restaurants and dining cities throughout the country. He and his crew were seen in San Diego last month, where they filmed Ironside Fish and Oyster's chef Jason McLeod at Tuna Harbor Dockside Market. The 18-episode series, with 30-minute running times, does not have a premiere date as of yet. A rep for Ramen Tatsu-ya said it might be in the fall.
The James Beard Award-winning host is known for Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods, where he eats local delicacies across the world like gooseneck barnacles and bacon-wrapped quail hearts. He went quail hunting with Dai Due's Jesse Griffiths for an episode two years ago.
Update, August 14, 2017: Zimmern made a stop at Guero’s Taco Bar as well for the television show over the weekend too.
