Rebel Pizza Bar Is Being Replaced by a Filipino Restaurant

Rebel Pizza Bar, the pizzeria from Suzi Yi, is now closed. The North Shoal Creek restaurant space will turn into a brick and mortar for Filipino-American food truck Be More Pacific. It’s set to open sometime in October.

Be More Pacific focuses on the melding of Filipino and American cuisines, seen best with the longanisa-topped tater tots. It also serves up classic Southeast Asian dishes, like adobo chicken, tosilog (pork mixed with garlic rice), and lumpia. While the truck no longer serves its longanisa sliders and adobo chicken sliders, it's possible the dishes will make a comeback at the restaurant.

The new restaurant space allows Be More Pacific to add booze to the lineup. This means beer and Filipino-inspired cocktails.

Be More Pacific is led by Mark Pascual and Giovan Cuchapin. They opened the food truck six years ago, which will become defunct when the new restaurant opens.

Yi and Frank Seely opened Rebel Pizza Bar in August 2015, above her Chinese restaurant Suzi's China Grill & Sushi Bar on Shoal Creek Boulevard. The restaurant served up pizza, chicken wings, meatballs, and more, along with beer and cocktails. The space included a rooftop patio with bocce ball court too, which Pacific can use to its advantage.
