Celebrated Texas chef Jack Gilmore gets closer to central Austin with the opening of his fourth Jack Allen's Kitchen on West Anderson Lane. It’ll swing its doors open on Saturday, July 15, starting off with dinner only. Lunch and brunch service will be added later. There is no word on hours yet.
Update, July 25, 12:30 p.m.: The newest Jack Allen’s Kitchen is now open for lunch starting at 11 a.m. Monday through Saturday. Brunch begins on Sunday starting at 10 a.m.
It's safe to expect Gilmore's signature style of good ol' comfort food from the new location of Jack’s. This means everything from chicken fried everything dishes, pimento cheese, decadent brunch buffets, and a lot of margaritas from the Eater 38 restaurant.
There are three other locations of Jack Allen’s Kitchen. First, there’s the original in Oak Hill, then the one along 360, and the other up in Round Rock. Gilmore also oversees Round Rock seafood restaurant Salt Traders Coastal Cooking.
Jack Allen’s North Shoal Creek expansion took over Fork & Vine's space. The New American restaurant from co-owners Brendan Puthoff and chef Camden Stuerzenberger closed in June 2016 because of unsuccessful lease negotiations.
