Austin Burger Stand P. Terry’s Is Opening a Taco Restaurant

The owners of P. Terry’s, Austin’s favorite fast food burger chain, are turning to tacos for their next restaurant, as reported by Austin 360. Patrick and Kathy Terry want to apply their same burger approach — housemade products at affordable prices — with Taco Ranch in Oak Hill sometime later this year.

“It will be reminiscent of taco stands, again, from the early ’60s,” Patrick Terry told the publication. “A very simple menu.” While there are no final menu details available, there will be flour and corn tortillas (made in-house), queso, guacamole, and other taco fixings.

Much like P. Terry's numerous locations, Taco Ranch will be designed by Michael Hsu's architecture firm. It will include dine-in areas, patio, and a drivethru. Taco Ranch is taking over the closed Burger King on MoPac and and 290.

The Terrys opened the first burger stand in 2005, followed by 13 other locations throughout the Austin-area, including the flagship restaurant in Capital Plaza. The Terrys seem adamant about never expanding P. Terry's beyond the Austin-area.
