Gaze Upon the Glory of Ice Cream Dessert Tacos

Over-the-top creations from TacoSweets

Dessert taco magic from TacoSweets
Erin Russell is associate editor of Eater Austin, a native Austinite, and a big fan of carbs.

While tacos make for popular meals in Austin, there is some debate as to what dessert compliments the dish best. TacoSweets, a food truck over on Burnet Road, answers that question with the obvious: more tacos, of the frozen sweet variety.

TacoSweets, which opened last year, bakes waffle cones into the shape of tacos, and then stuffs it with one of several ice cream flavors (the waffle taco shell comes in different colors depending on aesthetic preference). From there, the topping possibilities are endless, with a wide array of cereal and candy options a person could think of: marshmallows, Fruity Pebbles, Reese's Pieces, Nerds, Airheads, graham cracker crumbles, and a variety of sprinkles. Watch how owner David Eagan builds the sweet, sugary tacos in the video above.

Taco Sweets is open Tuesday through Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
