Help Epicerie Find Three-Time Alleged Restaurant Robber

Stealing cash, food, and more, all on tape

Epicerie, the French-Louisiana cafe in Rosedale, was robbed several times this month, including this morning, allegedly by the same person based on security footage. The purported thief damaged property, and took cash, food, and other undisclosed items.

Epicerie provided several security clips to Eater. In one instance, a fully-covered figure can be seen breaking the restaurant’s glass door, entering the space, and running out with something. In another, the same person approached the restaurant and taking something from its outdoor area. In the third, that person went into the restaurant and left with the cash register drawer. The first and second robberies occurred on Tuesday, July 11 and Monday, July 17.

The restaurant is looking for any additional information that can help it caught the burglar. The restaurant filed police reports, and there is an ongoing investigation, based on blood and the such left behind by the thief. In light of the three thefts, Epicerie increased its security, including making sure that all money is no longer left at the restaurant overnight.

Owner Sarah McIntosh opened Epicerie in early 2013.
