Aloft Austin Downtown and its sister hotel Element Austin Downtown have finalized its opening date, and with it comes two restaurants that will be shared between the two spaces. First-floor eatery Caroline Restaurant and Coffeehouse will start serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as grab-and-go cafe items like fresh cinnamon rolls, coffee from Little City Roasters, and juices. Higher up, rooftop bar Upstairs at Caroline will provide games and craft cocktails with a view on an open-air patio. Both will debut on Thursday, July 27.
Executive chef for the ventures is Michael Cerrie, formerly of Stella San Jac at the Westin, joined by restaurant general manager William Hong, previously at McGuire Moorman Hospitality. Expect comforting dishes like hot and crunchy halibut or the quinoa chili bowl. The cocktail offerings remain to be seen, though a Facebook post hinted at adult sno cones.
