Arnold Schwarzenegger is in Austin, and for his barbecue lunch, he opted for Rudy’s Country Store & Bar-B-Q out in Westlake, as spotted by Westlake Nation, the Twitter account for Westlake Athletics. He stopped by the gas station barbecue spot around noon today, Wednesday, July 12. It is unclear why he is in the city.
The actor and former California governor posted an Instagram story where he commented on Rudy’s self-proclaimed “worst bar-b-q in Texas” tagline. He said “It says ‘the worst barbecue ribs in Texas,’ but then I ate the ribs, it was the best of the best, I loved it.” He even included what looks like a custom sticker touting Rudy’s to his selfie video. Here’s the clip, courtesy of Rudy’s:
When Schwarzenegger was in Houston in May, he waited in line for Killen's Barbecue. He even added his signature to the barbecue joint's wall, and scrawled his famous catchphrase, "I'll be back!" He was in town because he was giving the commencement speech at the University of Houston's graduation ceremony.
