Food & Wine checked in on Texas’ current barbecue scene, taking a closer look at places that offered different dishes from the average Central Texas barbecue joint, like Valentina Tex Mex BBQ's carnitas and Micklethwait Craft Meats' Frito pie with brisket to newer ones like LeRoy & Lewis and the smoked meats of Kemuri Tatsu-ya.
