Austin’s fancier hostel Native with the motto of "fuck yes" makes its debut this week on Wednesday, May 10. The hostel includes an all-hours diner-inspired restaurant and cocktail bar, which means burgers (one loaded with pimento cheese, the other with buffalo sauce-smothered seitan), brisket French dip, and pickled deviled eggs, along with breakfast tacos and fried chicken biscuits. Scope out the full offerings below.
Chef Virginia Pharr oversees the hostel’s kitchen. She is also the chef behind Hard Luck Lounge's current food truck Pan. She also ran the dive bar’s previous food truck Lady Luck along with Baton Creole's Lynzy Moran.
Beverage director Nathan Vyberg (formerly of Star Bar) oversees the drinks, which’ll include the French I-35 (a tribute to the nearby highway) and Mez-Can Martini, with wine and beer, too. Helping out with the food and drink portions of the hostel is Rebecca Meeker, previously of Jeffrey's and Josephine House who now runs her own healthy food delivery service Lucky Lime.

The team behind Native includes Michael Dickson (Winflow Osteria, Eberly), Antonio Madrid, and Will Steakley. The rest of the hostel’s accommodations include shared lodging, private rooms, along with event spaces for music, film, and other happenings.
Initial hours for Native’s restaurant and bar are from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m., converting to 24 hours in the near future. Breakfast is served from 7 to 11 a.m. every day.
