— ELM Restaurant Group’s downtown patio bar and restaurant Irene’s celebrated its one-year anniversary yesterday. To commemorate the occasion, Irene’s is giving away free strawberry cupcakes to the first 100 guests visiting the restaurant starting at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, May 30.
— Travel Channel show Food Paradise visited Valentina's Tex Mex BBQ for its most recent episode, "Handheld Happiness," which aired over the weekend. It covered portable foods such as the barbecue trailer's breakfast tacos. The episode's next showing is on Saturday, June 3 at 1 p.m.
— Former La Barbecue pitmaster Jack Zizzo's new school barbecue pop-up Birdhouse BBQ is temporarily closing up shop at East Cesar Chavez spot Bucket's Bar. He's looking to open a proper food trailer in a different location within the next month.
