Zip Inside Conveyor Belt Sushi Restaurant Kula, Now Open

Kula Revolving Sushi Bar, Austin’s next conveyor belt sushi restaurant, is now open along Airport Boulevard north of Highland. This is the Japanese chain restaurant first Austin location. Diners will be able to pluck pieces of sushi, bowls of ramen, mochi, and other bites from the moving counter, or place orders through iPads.

Everything is placed in plastic domed receptacles, and yes, there are helpful instructions plastered everywhere. Prices ranging from $2 to $6 per item. Eater photographer Courtney Pierce toured the new location.

Next up for Airport Boulevard address is Austin’s first location of Asian-focused supermarket chain 99 Ranch Market, which will offer up Chinese, Korean, and Japanese goods..

Soft open hours are from 11:30 a.m. to p.m. Tuesday, May 2 through Thursday, May 4. Starting on Friday, May 5, regular business hours are from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.
