— Home Slice, Bufalina, Boteco, and Broken Spoke all make appearances in a new series of commercials from Coca-Cola. The pizzerias pop up in, obviously, the pizza-themed one, the Brazilian food truck in the Latin one, and musician Dale Watson defends Broken Spoke's burgers in the third one

— Want to cook like Aaron Franklin? The pitmaster is getting into the building game by selling hand-built smokers for personal use, available starting next year. Former Austin resident pitmaster John Lewis has a similar venture with his family.

— Want to work with Aaron Franklin? The barbecue restaurant is hiring front of house staff.

— Burmese trailer Burma Bliss temporarily closed its South Congress spot while it works on building up a new trailer.

Sports Illustrated writer Andy Staples sang the praises of La Barbecue, which doesn't have super long wait times like Franklin Barbecue, and it’s open five days a week, unlike Snow's BBQ's Saturday morning-only hours.
