Snow Monster, known for delving out sweet and cold snow ice, expanded with a second location out in Lakeway. It made its debut in mid-April.

Snow Monster’s main focus is the Taiwanese dessert, which consists of freshly-shaved ice that renders either fluffy or hard (the difference between snow or pure, and yes, there’s a soy option, too). Then it’s flavored with syrups (fruity, nutty, milky, tea) and topped with fruits, jellies, beans, puddings, and other bites. The shop even goes one step further with snow waffles (flavored waffles from taro to bacon/cheese loaded with toppings). For beverages, there are teas, bubble drinks, smoothies, and coffee.

Founders Ming Chen and John Sun opened the first Snow Monster in 2014 out on North Lamar and Braker Lane. The pair is open to further franchise expansions, too.

Snow Monster's Lakeway hours are from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
