Scarlet Rabbit, the Alice in Wonderland-themed Round Rock restaurant from chef/owner Rob Snow, is closing. Its last day on Main Street will be on Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 14, after brunch service.
Snow and Taylor aren’t holding onto the building. Instead, an unnamed person is taking over the address, which will be turned into a new restaurant sometime over the summer. "Soon, there will be a new project to take out place in this wonder space," co-owner Rich Taylor said in a statement, "so there will still be fun and interesting things to do downtown," in Round Rock.
Snow and Taylor (who is a Quality Seafood alum) opened Scarlet in July 2014. The restaurant was meant to have a “black tablecloth” bistro vibe, serving up Texas comfort food and drinks menus.
Snow still oversees his first restaurant Greenhouse Craft Food in Round Rock, with a similar Texas fare focus, back in 2013. It also has a branch within baseball stadium Dell Diamond's Intel Club.
