Lick Honest Ice Creams opens its fourth ice cream shop out in Mueller on Wednesday, April 19, with single free scoop giveaways from 7 to 10 p.m. For its debut day, Lick is donating all of its proceeds to Urban Roots, and the ice cream shop will also accept donations for the nonprofit that first week.
The menu will look like the other two Austin-area shops (the other’s out in San Antonio), seasonal, locally-inspired flavors ranging from caramel salt lick, goat cheese/thyme/honey, roasted beets/mint, to carrot cake and brown butter brown sugar pecan. The space is slightly bigger, with more outdoor seating.
Co-owners Anthony Sobotik and Chad Palmatier opened the first Lick in 2011 on South Lamar, which relocated to Lamar Union in 2016. Then there’s the Burnet Road shop, and the San Antonio scoops shop. They tease future locations outside of Austin, but with no further details.
Lick’s hours in the Diamond Building are from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Its neighbors include the recently-opened and revived J.T. Youngblood’s, Alamo Drafthouse, Kyoten Sushiko, Bribery Bakery, and L’Oca d’Oro.
