Pitmaster John Mueller is back in the barbecue game again. This time, he’s taking to Georgetown with new barbecue trailer Black Box Barbecue, as reported by Texas Monthly Barbecue. It’ll start smoking meats in May on East 9th and South Church streets in the downtown area.

Mueller, of the famous Texas barbecue family, opened JMueller BBQ, his first barbecue trailer, with sister LeAnn Mueller in 2011. He left the next year, and she changed the name to La Barbecue. Then he opened his second trailer, John Mueller Meat Co., in 2013, which closed last summer because everything was seized by state because of unpaid taxes.

Mueller notes that he does not own any part of Black Box, he's just cooking at the trailer. Expect beef and pork ribs, brisket, smoked turkey, sausage, and more on Black Box’s menu.

Black Box owners Justin Bohls and Gary Brown do have plans to turn the barbecue spot into a brick and mortar restaurant eventually, near the trailer’s home base.

Notably, Noble Sandwich Co. is opening up a Georgetown branch, as well.
