— Texas’ go-to road trip bathroom and snack stop, Buc-ee’s, is expanding outside of the state for the first time ever. It's working on a location in Daytona Beach, Florida, bringing a taste of the Lone Star state to the East Coast in 2018.

— Someone attempted to steal a slice of Roppolo's Pizzeria from a group of people on Dirty Sixth sometime during early Saturday morning.

— San Antonio chef Jason Dady made it through the first episode of returning food competition show Iron Chef Gauntlet.

— Delish sees Coachella as more of a food festival than a music festival, which makes sense considering the options from tater tots drenched with raclette cheese, waffle sticks, and more. But the website thinks there are better food festivals out there, including Austin Food & Wine Festival, though it called East 6th Street a "quirky food paradise.”

— NPR visited musically-inclined Cajun seafood diner Hilltop Cafe out in Fredericksburg.

— Craft beer chain Ginger Man is making its way to Bee Cave. It'll be found within the Hill Country Galleria in the fall. The new location will include expanded food offerings. The Austin one opened in 2009.
