Green Pastures’ brunches was the stuff of legends, perfect for all sorts of special occasions from graduation celebrations to Mother’s Day. And now the meal is back at the newly-redubbed restaurant Mattie’s come Saturday, April 22, with a few changes. First, it will be available on both Saturday and Sunday. Second, it’s no longer served as a buffet; items will be available a la carte.
Joshua Thomas, the restaurant’s executive chef, is paying homage to Green Pastures’ Southern brunch menu, serving up biscuits, fried chicken eggs, and the famous milk punch, and more. Read on for the full menu below. Brunch hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Mary Faulk Koock opened Green Pastures' restaurant back in 1946. La Corsha Hospitality Group, developer Greg Porter, and others purchased the property in 2015, unveiling the renovated space this past March. Next to come for the property is a boutique hotel opening next year.
