California-born brunch chain First Watch is opening its first Austin location in Allandale on Friday, March 17. The morning-focused restaurant taking over what was breakfast chain Egg & I’s only Austin spot on West Anderson Road, within Northcross Mall.

First Watch’s menu, which includes nutritional facts, features omelets, bowls, pancakes, sandwiches, soups, and morning sides like toast, bacon, and fruit. For drinks, there is a juice bar with beverages like a kale tonic and the Morning Meditation, which uses turmeric, ginger, and other ingredients, along with coffee, tea, and soda.

Snooze, another brunch chain expanded to Austin last year, with two packed locations on South and North Lamar boulevards.

First Watch’s hours are from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every day. Other Texas locations can be found in Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, and College Station. Both First Watch and Egg & I are run by the same company, First Watch Restaurants.
