— Actor Jon Hamm, who went to UT in 1989, loves breakfast tacos, opting for “big greasy chorizo and egg,” and he’s a big fan of Kerbey Lane, though the city has changed so much since he lived here, he wasn’t sure if it was still around (it is).

— West 12th Street bar and pizza slingers King Bee baked up a Frito Pie pizza pie, with a vegan option, available until Monday, March 20

— Chef Callie Speer revealed more details about her anticipating restaurant, Bombshell. The menu will feature brisket biscuits and cake batter pancakes.

— Odd Duck's brunch pastry chef and Paperboy chef Zechariah Perez really enjoys cooking eggs: "You really get to see how heat interacts with the egg so soon."

— Fried chicken fans will have to wait for the returning restaurant. JT Youngblood’s pushed back its Mueller opening by a week to Monday, March 27.

— Austin-based chain Schlotzsky’s is making brisket sandwiches, with a Cuban version (served with ham, Swiss cheese, mustard) and a Tex-Mex one (with queso fresco, salsa verde, red peppers, jalapenos).
