SXSW attendees will be able to escape from the crowds in Austin and head to TNT’s version of a southern California beach this weekend. To celebrate the start of Animal Kingdom’s second season, the network will create an “authentic, gritty SoCal beach” during the festival at 400 Congress Avenue this Saturday through Monday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
At the installation, there will be a beer garden that Eater, a media sponsor, helped curate, as well as a custom sneaker bar, a surf simulator and wave pool, games, and a live graffiti wall to round out the experience.
On Saturday evening, bartender Jessica Sanders, the co-owner of Austin bars Backbeat and Drink.Well., will be joined by members of the show’s cast to judge Animal Kingdom-themed drinks in the beer garden. There will also be food from local food truck The Mighty Cone.
For more information about this installation, head to the SXSW schedule.
