It looks like Philadelphia chef and restaurateur Marc Vetri closed his Austin branch of Pizzeria Vetri. The pizza shop was part of Urban Outfitters’ Space 24 Twenty on the Drag. The location no longer appears on the website, and calls to the current restaurant rang out. However, calls to Space and a Philadelphia location of Vetri confirmed the shutter.

Pizzeria Vetri’s last day was Tuesday, January 31. According to a rep for Vetri, Urban Outfitters is looking to expand into the former space for pop-ups, marketplaces, and other similar events with local angles. This decision will not affect the Pizzeria Vetri locations in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

The menu featured Neapolitan pizza (along with an Austin-inspired pie ATX Maialino topped with pork shoulder, avocado, and queso fresco), bottled cocktails, and pizza desserts. Vetri opened this first Austin venture in November 2015.

That same month, Vetri sold a majority of his restaurant group to Urban Outfitters. He also revealed that he would potentially open more pizzerias, other locations of his casual restaurant Amis Trattoria, or even work on brand new concepts for the city.

Within Space 24 Twenty is Ohio chef and restaurateur Michael Symon’s counter service burger spot, Symon's Burger Joint, which opened in November 2015 as well. There were rumors of a third unnamed restaurant slotted for the space, potentially run by John Besh and Aaron Sanchez, but nothing ever came of it.
