Austin-based My Fit Foods has closed all of its stores, according to a statement posted to its website over the weekend. The company sold ready-made healthy meals and snacks, as well as provided nutrition education and meal-planning services.
The company took down its social media sites and posted the following message on its website:
Since 2006, My Fit Foods has been on a mission to make healthy eating easy and accessible for everyone. We've enjoyed getting to know you, and we are proud that we have made a difference in many of your lives. It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of all of our stores. We know that you have depended upon us to support your healthy habits, and we are deeply sorry for any inconvenience our closure may have caused you. Please direct any inquiries to info@myfitfoods.com. Thank you for your kind support these past years, and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
My Fit Foods
My Fit Foods was founded by Mario Mendias in Houston in 2006 and moved its headquarters to Austin in 2013, reported Austin Business Journal. The company had more than 50 retail stores in five states.
Over the past few years, Austin has seen a rise in prepackaged meals-to-go services such as Snap Kitchen, The Studio Kitchen, Cilantro Lime, and newcomer Freshii among others. Last month, Eater reported that Union Venture Group appears to have shuttered the salad-focused GreenGos, with locations in Mueller and North Burnet.
