Owners of the former South Austin spot Henri’s Cheese and Wine Shop are opening a new restaurant in Windsor Park. Owners Andy Means and Jessie Katz named their new venture, Hank’s, a casual all-day restaurant set to open in February 2018 in Windsor Village on Berkman Drive.
The menu will include easygoing dishes like burgers, sandwiches, salads, and pasta. There is a coffee shop component with pastries, as well as a full bar with tapped wine and beer. The space will also include a drive-thru and dog-friendly patio.
The name is linked to their old restaurant, Henri’s. Means’ grandfather was named Henri, but his nickname was Hank.
Before Means and Katz took over the Berkman Drive restaurant, the address was set to become restaurant and coffee shop Odelay and The Upper East Side from owners Kelly LaPlante and Jason Hicks. Those intentions were revealed in 2014, with a pegged 2015 opening date, but plans fell through.
Means and Katz’s first restaurant on South Lamar, Henri’s, closed in spring 2016 because of a fire.
