— North Loop restaurant Foreign & Domestic added an offal-focused tasting menu. The four-course meal comes with dishes making use of various animal parts from seared lamb heart to foie gras mousse. It runs for $42 per person.

— Two former Pollo Regio employees were accused of attacking and shooting staffers at the South Austin restaurant last Friday evening on December 22, as reported by the Statesman. Mario Raymond Martinez and Vanessa Hernandez entered the restaurant looking for Martinez's paychecks, and then he “got a knife, jumped on a crate and swung his arms wildly,” according to the newspaper. Then “Hernandez fired the weapon [the gun] while Martinez reloaded.” No one was injured.

— Australian publication Vacations & Travel highlighted Austin’s eclectic spirit in its latest issue, covering chicken shit bingo at dive bars, food trucks, and the strong food scene from Franklin Barbecue to Uchi to Fonda San Miguel to 24 Diner.
