Brewery and restaurant Southerleigh Brewing Co. is expanding with a second location in San Antonio, headed for the Brooks coming to the Brooks development in the southeast part of the city. Helmed by chef Jeff Balfour, it’s expected to open in fall of 2018.

The menu at the Brooks location will be new, though fairly similar to the coastal southern fare at the original Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery in the historic Pearl brew house. The Brooks location will serve special recipe fried chicken, gulf seafood, and an “extensive” oyster bar, as well as signature beers, guest beers, and wine.

Given the location in The Greenline park, the new restaurant will have a large deck and outdoor space. Southerleigh will be joined in the development by fellow native chef Johnny Hernandez, who recently announced La Gloria and El Machito will be opening at Brooks in fall 2018.
