East Side coffee and beer expert Wright Bros. Brew & Brew is actually opening its very own brewery, Hold Out Brewing in Old West Austin. It will be found next door to its soon-to-be-open all-day bar and cafe Better Half on West 4th Street from co-owners Matthew Bolick, Matt Wright, and Grady Wright.

The beer program will range from lagers, hoppy pale ales, and seasonals inspired by Texas. Hold Out’s head brewer will be Brent Sapstead, who was the head brewer and production manager of Real Ale Brewing. The taproom will also feature local guest breweries

Food is part of the brewery too, including beer-friendly burgers and sandwiches. Better Half chef Rich Reimbolt will also oversee the kitchen.

Hold Out will be found within a Quonset hut taken from the original Camp Mabry property. The space is designed by Chioco Design and Lilianne Steckel Interior Design.

Hold Out will open in late 2018, while Better Half is projected to open in early 2018.
