Red’s Porch is continuing its northern migration with a new location in Round Rock, according to the Statesman. The third location for the restaurant will take over the shuttered La Madeleine at 4401 Interstate 35, Suite 2005 sometime in January 2018.
Red’s Porch is described as “half-Cajun, half-Tex-Mex, half-Southern,” and is known for dishes like burgers, fried boudin balls, and sandwiches. Currently, there is a trailer posted outside the future Round Rock location advertising a similar menu, with burgers, wings, Frito pie, tacos, and queso. The food truck (a new development) and signs on the vacant building are, so far, the only indications that a Red’s is forthcoming (there’s no mention of new locations on the restaurant’s website).
Davis Tucker, who also oversees North by Northwest Brewery, first opened Red's on South Lamar in 2009, with a sweeping patio overlooking the greenbelt. The restaurant opened a second location on Braker Lane in July, and is reportedly eyeing an expansion to San Antonio. It looks like things are moving quickly for what’s becoming an Austin mini-chain.
